Cruz Shows Why He's not Fit to be President

Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, a Republican. A candidate who finished with 1,000 less delegates than Donald Trump, just proved why he was not the man to be the nominee of the Republican party.

Cruz, the son of a Cuban immigrant who is also a Pastor could not bring himself to back the Republican nominee for President, thus stealing the spotlight from Governor Mike Pence, Trumps VP choice.

After talking about forgiveness, freedom, and limited government he refused to say anything more than “vote your conscience”. Senator Cruz proved exactly why he was not Presidential material.

Fortunately for Ted Cruz, he was followed by Newt Gingrich who countered Cruz’s comments and paraphrased the meaning of them. Newt Gingrich said, “I think you misunderstood one paragraph of what Ted Cruz said. Ted Cruz said vote your conscience for anyone that will uphold the constitution.” Newt said, “there is only one candidate that will uphold the Constitution. So to paraphrase Ted Cruz,  if you want to protect the Constitution of the United States, the only possible candidate this fall is the Trump/Pence Republican Ticket!”

Most did not see this because the networks all went to their talking heads rather than show Gingrich’s speech. I urge you to look it up on You Tube. There is another that the networks didn’t cover that was really good, but there was a part that called on the press to do their jobs, so naturally the networks wouldn’t play that. Laura Ingraham gave the best speech up to that point just before Cruz. She admonished the other Republican candidates to honor their pledge to support the Republican ticket.  You can watch that here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqNhDVcvrsg

Ted Cruz could have made the Republican Convention worse had it not been for Ingraham before him and Gingrich after him. When the booing started and it was clear that the people wanted him to endorse Trump, he chose to ignore them. Cruz would have come off much better had he endorsed, as he promised in writing, but he chose to think of himself rather than the country. He was in direct contrast to the theme of the convention. Country. All he had to do when he saw the reaction from the people, was to adjust his speech. We all know it can be done. Gingrich did it to cover Cruz’s backside. Cruz certainly could have adlibbed to take the higher ground, but he chose the low rode.

If he has future aspirations in the Republican party, he probably just quashed them tonight.

You’re welcome to comment.
